Project Scope

Cartwright Gardens is a new student accommodation for the University of London. The existing buildings with the exclusion of the 14 storey Hughes Parry Tower, were demolished and replaced with a new building. The Hughes Parry Tower has been refurbished, which included replacing all internal and external finishes, as well as two upper floors.

Cartwright Gardens has now been increased to 1200 student rooms, with an outstanding grand entrance to the building. Sussex Stone & Ceramic fabricated the geometrical stone pattern and lettering to the external entrance of the building using their state-of-the art water-jetting machinery. The pattern was created using four different types of stone: Sienna Beige, Emperador Llight, Gold Travertine & Nerinea.

The unique four-stone pattern entrance has become a striking attraction and works well with the design of the rest of the Cartwright building.
